How we handle your personal data on MedicalVocabulary.org.
Data controller
The data controller for data collected through MedicalVocabulary.org can be reached at info@medicalvocabulary.org.
Data collected and purposes
- Email for the newsletter - if you subscribe, we keep your address to send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link at the bottom of every email.
- Email + password for an account - if you sign up, we keep your email and hashed password (bcrypt or argon2) for authentication. No other personal data is required.
- Technical logs - the server keeps access logs (IP, user agent, requested URL) for at most 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
Legal basis
Processing is based on the data subject's explicit consent (newsletter, account) and on the controller's legitimate interest (security logs).
Rights of the data subject
Under the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) and equivalent laws, you can at any time:
- Access your data
- Request its rectification or deletion
- Restrict or object to processing
- Obtain data portability
- Lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority

Data retention
Newsletter and account data are kept while the subscription/account exists. Upon deletion, they are permanently removed from backups within 30 days.
