Antiatherogenic mutation

A genetic mutation that protects against atherogenesis, the formation of atheromas (plaques) in arteries.

Antiatherogenic mutations include CETP deficiency (cholesterol ester transfer protein deficiency) and familial hypobetalipoproteinemia
