Mower injury

Injury from a mower, a machine used to cut grass (or other grains or weeds) to an even length.

The main source of danger with a power mower is the blade which, to do its job, must be sharp and travel at a high speed.

It can inflict serious injury if a hand or foot is allowed to get under the mower deck.

There is great danger also of objects being thrown by the blade.

A person struck by a rock or piece of wire thrown by a mower can suffer severe injury or death.

Fuelling a hot engine is inadvisable; it can cause serious burns to large portions of the body
